What to Expect

what to expect

At North Country Kayak, we want your day on the water to be as easy as possible.  All necessary gear is provided for your trip including a kayak, paddle, life jacket, and dry bag for your personal belongings.

What you bring

Like any outdoor adventure, being prepared is key to having a good time. We strongly encourage water shoes for all guests (not flip flops). We recommend a hat, sunglasses, and layers that are NOT made out of cotton. We also recommend bringing water and a snack.

water safety

At North Country Kayak we are committed to your well-being and comfort on the water. Your safety is our number one concern. North Country Kayak staff are trained in Wilderness First Aid and Swift Water Rescue. We run trips with the intention of having a fun, exciting adventure while avoiding any unnecessary risk.  If you have any questions or concerns relating to safety – please contact us prior to booking.

How do I book a tour/rental?

All of our guided tours and kayak rentals are booked directly through our online booking platform!

For day of availability please call us at 603 – 562 – 9864 or visit us at our home base at the Dodge Hill Launch – Moore Reservoir.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

You sure do! If you’ve selected a guided tour, sign our Participant Waiver. If you’re renting a kayak without taking a tour, sign our Rental Waiver.

How does Parking/Transportation work?

All of our guided tours and kayak rentals depart from our home base at the Dodge Hill Launch, in Littleton NH.

Park in the upper dirt lot next to the North Country Kayak sign that reads: Launch Site, Walk This Way ←

Grab your belongings and walk down the road, around the yellow gate and follow signs for North Country Kayak until you arrive at our check-in location. The walk from the parking area to our launch site takes two minutes. Our staff will meet you here and show you to your kayaks.

Will I get wet?

The short answer is, yes! Your boat will be cozy and dry while kayaking. However, we hope that you will take a swim or at least dip your toes in the water.

Do I need to bring my own kayak gear?

We provide the kayak, paddle, life jacket, and dry bag for you. However, if you have paddling gear of your own that you would like to use, that is A-okay with us! You can bring extra layers and anything else to be comfortable on the water.

Can I pay the day of the tour?

All tours and rentals can be paid in advance through our online booking platform.

We do accept Cash, Venmo, and PayPal for day of reservations.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 48 hours of your tour/rental will receive a full credit that can be used towards another tour or rental. There is no refund for cancellation after this time period.

Do you still go out in bad weather?

We will operate our tours unless there is a chance of high winds, lightning, or heavy rain. If we do cancel, you will be refunded.

Are there any age requirements?

All of trips are age friendly (kids and grandparents welcome). As long as you can get in and out of a kayak and sit comfortably for 2 hours you can come on a tour!
