What to Expect

WHAT WE BRING
At North Country Kayak, we want your day on the water to be as easy as possible. All necessary gear is provided for your trip including a kayak, paddle, life jacket, and dry bag for your personal belongings.

WHAT YOU BRING
Like any outdoor adventure, being prepared is key to having a good time. We strongly encourage water shoes for all guests (not flip flops). We recommend a hat, sunglasses, and layers that are NOT made out of cotton. We also recommend bringing water and a snack.

SAFETY ON THE WATER
At North Country Kayak we are committed to your well-being and comfort on the water. Your safety is our number one concern. North Country Kayak staff are trained in Wilderness First Aid and Swift Water Rescue. We run trips with the intention of having a fun, exciting adventure while avoiding any unnecessary risk. If you have any questions or concerns relating to safety – please contact us prior to booking.

Will I get wet?
The short answer is, yes! Your boat will be cozy and dry while kayaking. However, we hope that you will take a swim or at least dip your toes in the water.
Do I need to bring my own kayak gear?
We provide the kayak, paddle, life jacket, and dry bag for you. However, if you have paddling gear of your own that you would like to use, that is A-okay with us! You can bring extra layers and anything else to be comfortable on the water.
